Rs. 3.5 lakhs was stolen by unidentified men who threatened a boy who was alone at home at knife point in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Police are searching for the culprit who stole Rs 3.5 lakh from the son of a businessman who was alone at home. Jijender Mehta, 38 is from Ponnurangam Road, RS Puram, Coimbatore. He runs a plywood shop in the Kamarajapuram area of Mettupalayam Road.
He was doing business at the store the night before yesterday and his 10-year-old son Rishabh was at home. Jijender Mehta's family went to the shop next door and a 30-year-old man who came home at the time spoke to the boy in Hindi and asked him to go get a letter pad from his dad's shop. When the boy was looking for the letter pad, the man entered the room of the house and saw the money on the table. He threatened to kill the boy if he made any noise and then took Rs. 3.5 lakh and put it in a bag and fled.
A complaint was lodged with the RS Puram police. It is clear that the culprit was a person who knows the details of all the people in the house. Police have registered a case and are looking for the culprit with surveillance camera footage near the house. The incident has caused a stir in the area.
