MP P R Natarajan urges facilitation of uninterrupted network services for villages

P R Natarajan stated that BSNL has a wide reach throughout villages and hence he would keep voicing out for the retrieval and proper use of BSNL throughout India.

Coimbatore:The Coimbatore District Telecom Advisory Committee meeting was held on Wednesday at the BSNL headquarters in Mettupalayam Road. Coimbatore MP, P R Natarajan of CPI (M) urged the provision of uninterrupted telecom services for villages at the Telecom Advisory Committee meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the Coimbatore MP, P R Natarajan and Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram and Rajya Sabha member S R Balasubramaniam also participated.

The dignitaries at the meeting stated that the Union Government should back BSNL and facilitate the telecom service provider in providing network and telecommunication services to remote areas and villages. They requested allotting necessary funds to lay fibre optic cables for good network speed.

'The Union Government shall not neglect the Government-owned Telecom service provider and support private service providers. Moreover, the commons in India have invested their trusts in BSNL rather than on other networks,' stated P R Natarajan to the reporters.

Speaking at the meeting, the MP expressed his grief on activities like compulsory retirement of employees, non-provision of pension and sale of BSNL assets that curb the good services and existence of the telecom service provider. P R Natarajan stated that BSNL has a wide reach throughout villages and hence he would keep voicing out for the retrieval and proper use of BSNL throughout India. A request for provision and implementation of facilities for networks that support students for their education has also been put forth.

BSNL Chief General Manager Venkatasubramaniam and other departmental officials, and consultative committee members K S Kanakaraj, Murthy, Gopal and Deivanendran participated in the meeting.
