Coimbatore: Police have arrested a family who pretended to go for walks at 4 am in Coimbatore and robbed items from varioushouses.

Police revealed that Maideen (22) from West Bengal had been staying and working with his friend in Sukrawarpet. Two days ago, in the early hours of the morning, four unidentified persons including two 2 women opened the door to his room and noticed that all were fast asleep inside the room and hence stole the cell phone which was near Maideen and fled. Shocked that his cell phone was missing, Maideen reported the incident to the Variety Hall police.

The police filed a case and were searching for the suspects. Since there were more reports of such thefts over the past few months in areas including Variety Hall Road, Coimbatore police formed two special forces. Further investigation revealed that the culprits were Krishnaveni (45), her sons Anandu (27) and Ramesh (22), and Anandu's mother-in-law Thuruliyammal (39), from Dindigul but staying in Perur. Police arrested all four of them.

In a confession to the police the four said, 'We came to Coimbatore from Dindigul a few years ago to be daily wage workers. In Coimbatore, we did not get enough income. So we got up at 4 am daily and went for a walk, and kept stealing from houses where people were sleeping soundly. The income for us was high when we constantly were able to steal jewelry and money. So, we also went to many tourist sites regularly and spent the money and lived happily. We return to Coimbatore after we spend all the money. No one could suspect us because we were together as a family,' they added.
