Coimbatore: Two men who snatched the 'thaali' of a woman returning from work were caught within a few hours of the incident, thanks to the brilliant efforts of Inspector Saravanaperumal.
Anandi who lives in Negamam was riding back on her two-wheeler from work as usual on August 24, when two men with their helmets on and riding a black two-wheeler snatched her two sovereign gold 'thaali' off her neck. She immediately lodged a complaint in the Negamam Police Station.
On the District Superintendent of Police, S Selvanagarathinam’s orders, Inspector Saravanaperumal deployed his special squad and hunted down the culprits in a few hours based on the details of identities given, intensive investigations and survey of CCTV cameras. Calculating the time of the incident, the culprits, Ahmed Musharraf and Wasim Khan were caught within 30 km of the crime scene.
Police Inspector, Saravanaperumal and his team were felicitated by the District Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office and awarded a certificate of appreciation for their quick thinking and action.
