Students of the 1972-76/77 batch came together and set out an objective for themselves to “Re-live the Life that they had in TNAU and hostel during those days.”

A source from the varsity stated that a plan was drawn to meet at the TNAU campus and relive the years of study which the former students spent at the campus. On Saturday, a tour of the University was organised on Saturday morning.

As part of the tour, the alumni visited class rooms, the play area, library, auditorium, botanical garden, wet land plot cultivation, hostel, food mess among other hotspots located at the TNAU campus. On Sunday, as a token of gratitude to their alma mater, the former students of the varsity donated a monument related to Agriculture which was installed at the botanical garden as a permanent fixture.

Besides this, a life-size statue of a farmer with a plough made of brass was mounted on a podium that is 4 ft above the ground.

The monument was inaugurated by Dr. N Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU inside the botanical garden. The new additions to the botanical garden will also double up as tourist spots for visitors.
