Police are investigating the murder of a youth who was hacked to death at midnight


Coimbatore: A youth who was returning on a two-wheeler to Bodipalayam in Madukkarai, after visiting his friends in Coimbatore was hacked to death by unidentified men and died on the spot.

Police are investigating the cause of murder to ascertain if was due to conflict in a love affair or a previous enmity. The incident has caused a stir in the area among residents.

Arusamy's son Ramesh (23) worked in a private CNC factory in Karumathampatti and was returning home on his two-wheeler via the Palakkad LNT bypass after visiting his friends. Unidentified men reportedly blocked his two-wheeler when he rode near Bodipalayam and hacked Ramesh's neck, abdomen and shoulders with a scythe and knife. Ramesh died on the spot.

Upon information, the Madukkarai police recovered Ramesh's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Police have registered a case and are conducting a serious investigation as to the cause and launched a man-hunt for the men who committed the murder.
