Four more men have been booked in the Pollachi sexual assault case

Four more men arrested in the Pollachi sexual assault case. An additional copy of the chargesheet will be issued to the nine arrested soon and investigation will begin.


Coimbatore: Five persons were arrested in February 2019 in the Pollachi sexual assault case.



The five accused are Thirunavukarasu, Sabarirajan, Satishkumar, Vasantharajan and Manivannan were arrested. The case was then transferred to the CBI and CBI officials registered the case and filed a criminal report in 2019.

Last January, the CBI arrested Arulanantham, Haran Paul and Babu from Pollachi. Nine women victims testified in court as the trial continued. Arun Kumar from Pollachi was arrested a few days ago. CBI officials have filed a chargesheet in the Coimbatore Women's Court, with four more people arrested in the Pollachi sexual assault case. An additional copy of the chargesheet will be issued to the nine arrested soon and investigation will begin.

The Chennai High Court has been hearing the Pollachi sexual assault case since September 1. The Court has ordered that the investigation be completed within a period of 6 months. Following this, the Pollachi sexual assault case will be heard daily in the Coimbatore Women's Court from September 1.

An additional copy of the chargesheet is to be issued to the 9 people arrested in this case. With the court custody of the nine accused drawing t an end on Friday, the court custody is said to have been extended by hearing the case through video conferencing. CBI officials have also intensified the process of conducting daily trial hearings from September 1, as action is being taken to issue a copy of the chargesheet to the nine accused soon.
