Two youth arrested and 230 kg tobacco worth Rs. 2 lakhs seized in Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Police have arrested two youth for selling banned tobacco products worth Rs. 2 lakhs. The police had received a tip-off that banned tobacco products were being hoarded and sold illegally around N.S.R. Road in Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore. Police rushed to the spot and seized the tobacco products, mobile phones and the vehicles of the culprits.

Tobacco products worth Rs. 2 lakh and weighing 230 kg, 3 mobile phones, an amount of Rs. 1,44,800 and a Yamaha two-wheeler were confiscated. Further, investigations revealed that the two youth arrested, Vignesh (26) is from Ondipudur and Alvin (29) is from Sindhnagar, Ondipudur.

The police department are continuing their intensive patrolling in the city.
