The Roselet Medical Center Clinic is located in the Uppilipalayam Sowripalayam area of Coimbatore. Dr. Prem Dev Kumar runs the hospital. He is said to have taken a loan of Rs 3.5 crore from Bandan Bank.
For the past few months since the Coronavirus lockdown period, the monthly installments for that loan is said to have been unpaid. The Central and State Governments have set a time limit for the loan to be repaid.
The the patients who were being treated at the hospital protested against the bank officials coming to confiscate the items in the hospital as the doctor did not pay the interest on the loan. As the bank officials came after 6 pm, the patients in the hospital, questioned that the confiscation should not be done after 5 pm.
