Actor Arya money laundering case: Actor Arya's lawyer to file a defamation case

Actor Arya's lawyer has said he intends to file a defamation suit against those who criticized the actor on social media sites.


Coimbatore: Two were arrested for allegedly pretending to be actor Arya and defrauding Rs 70 lakh from a woman. Actor Arya's lawyer has said he intends to file a defamation suit against those who criticized the actor on social media sites.

Recently, news broke out that actor Arya had cheated on a woman and then married Sayyesha. An Ealam woman from Germany had lodged a case with the Chennai Cyber Crime Police alleging that Arya had got Rs 70 lakh from her and cheated on her. Vidja is in Germany and police called her here for investigation based on the complaint filed by her. Following investigation two people have been arrested by cyber crime police for launching a fake page in the name of Actor Arya on social networking sites and engaging in money laundering. Arya's lawyer said it is certain that this case has nothing to do with the actor. Actor Arya's lawyer Jerome Joseph spoke to reporters at Saibaba Colony in Coimbatore today.

He said the Chennai Cyber crime police have arrested two persons for opening a fake Facebook account in the name of Arya. He said the complaint had nothing to do with actor Arya. The lawyer said that the two arrested were involved in various similar scams and that the two real culprits had been arrested through the bank account where the transaction took place. Even before the truth of the matter was known, bad criticisms were made on actor Arya and were posted on social media and YouTube. Lawyer Jerome Joseph said they were about to file a defamation suit against those who defamed Actor Arya on various social media sites saying he had gone into hiding and fled to Mumbai.
