141 out of 324 parks in city spruced up for public use as Coimbatore's green cover gets a fresh look

In line with the orders of the Corporation Commissioner, authorities and workers in Coimbatore are sprucing up the city's parks.


Coimbatore: Out of the 324 parks under the Coimbatore City Corporation, 141 are clean now and in use as per reports.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara continues to advise authorities and corporation workers to keep all public places, parks and residential areas clean. He also appealed to the public to cooperate in keeping the Coimbatore Corporation clean.

The Commissioner inspected the parks in the residential areas of the Corporation last month and ordered cleaning of all the parks and regular maintenance of each park. Roadsides in Coimbatoretoo have now been cleared of undisposed waste and garbage.

As of now, 141 parks have been cleaned and open for public use. 324 parks are maintained under 5 zones of the Corporation. Of these, 43 parks have been cleaned in the East Zone, 17 in the West, 16 in North, 45 in the South and 20 parks in the Central Region of Coimbatore.
