The police department of the Valaparai hosted an awareness program to teach women and girl children on various topics
Valparai: Kadamparai police station next to Valparai in Coimbatore district hosted an awareness program at the Kavarkal Estate on behalf of the police department. The event was presided over by Srinivasan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Valparai Subdivision. The Deputy superintendent of police, Srinivasan explained the function of the SOS app in detail. He spoke on topics like child marriage, dowry, abortion, and the POCSO act. He insisted the audience to contact the police on toll-free telephone numbers 1098 and 181 to inform any kind of crime against women. Speaking next, the inspector said to contact toll-free telephone number 181 to inform the police immediately about sexual harassment at the place of work. He distributed awareness leaflets asking women, especially children, to avoid moving alone at night and to stay safe from wildlife. Srinivasan, deputy superintendent of police in the Valparai subdivision, continued to provide rice, groceries, vegetables, relief assistance to the family of the injured after being attacked by a bear last week. Valparai inspector of police Karpagam, Sub-inspector, chief constable, and police personnel were present at the event.
