Coimbatore: All the units in the Coimbatore Government College and hospital hit her to functioned as Covid treatment units since the pandemic became severe.
With the number of new cases considerably gone low, Dr.Nirmala, Dean, Government Medical college and Hospital has made an official announcement that all the units will function as the respective specialized departments hereafter.
Around 1200 beds were laid exclusively to treat covid patients in the District government hospital.
Treatments other than Covid were temporarily on hold, while the doctors treated extremely emergency cases and surgeries were done.
With the daily number of cases gone below 200, consultations, treatments and surgeries for all complaints shall be attended as per the dean’s statement.
