Forest department tries to save a bear that was unable to climb down from a tree in Valparai

A month ago the bear attacked and killed a tea plantation worker in the Villoni estate area.

Coimbatore: Bear movement has been on the rise for some days in the estates surrounding Valparai in Coimbatore district.

After that, a bear attacked and injured a boy who was walking home in the Ayarpadi estate area. Thus the bear movement is being detected in various areas and the forest department has issued a warning to the public as there is an increase in bear migration.

Locals saw a bear climbing a tree in a tea estate near the Waterfall Estate near Valparai today.

The public noticed the bear in the tree for a few hours and informed the forest department. Forest officers came to the area and saw that the bear had climbed a tree and its hand was stuck in a tree branch, making it impossible for the bear to climb down.

Forest officers then camped in the area and took action to save the bear from the tree. Tensions are high in the area as two more bears roam the tea estate under a tree. Forest officers have been engaged in security work to keep the public away from the bear.
