15 daily flights at Coimbatore Airport: 'Go Air', 'Spice Jet' flights resume operations after suspension

With 'Go Air' and 'Spice Jet' having resumed services at Coimbatore Airport, the number of daily flights is expected to increase in the coming days.


Coimbatore: Air traffic at Coimbatore International Airport was severely affected due to the first and second waves of Covid-19 being rampant in the district.

With only five flights operating daily in May, the number of flights operating gradually increased. In July, 11 flights were operated daily and currently the number of daily flights in August has increased to 15. 'Go Air' and 'Spice Jet' which had suspended flights during the pandemic have now resumed flights.

According to airport sources, Coimbatore Airport currently operates domestic flights to cities including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune and international flights to Sharjah. 'Go Air' and 'Spice Jet' have resumed services at Coimbatore Airport. The number of daily flights is expected to increase in the coming days with the district administration beefing up efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
