The women’s Wing President of BJP celebrated Raksha Bandhan, the day that celebrates the brother-sister bond in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The festival of Raksha bandhan which highlights the brother-sister bond was celebrated in low-key manner as temples were closed due to Covid-19 norms in place said Kishore Jain, Media coordinator for the Jains.
The Coimbatore south MLA and All India Women Wing president of BJP Vanathi Srinivasan met with many people on the occasion of Raksha bandhan.
She tied Rakhi, the thread tied to brothers as a ritual. She visited 20 places and associations and tied rakhis that were made under the Make In India project.
She received blessings from Sthankak Sangh Holy Jain sadhviji Kumudlata ji Marasaheb and other sadhvijis and offered prayers for peace and universal brotherhood. The teachings of Vardhaman Mahaveer the 24th Tirthankara were recited as Maha Manglik by sadhviji in old prakrit language and the prayers were translated in tamil by Kishore Golecha.
