Enchroched lands worth 5-crore confiscated in Vadavalli

A private organization encroached the land. A board now has also been put up stating the ownership of the land.


Coimbatore: A team headed by Ravindran, Corporation Executive Engineer, Coimbatore seized lands worth ₹5 crore near Marudhamalai, Vadavalli. In the 7.15 acres of land available, 77 plots, 71 cents allocated for public usage. And 10% (9 cents) has been allocated for shops, approved by Senior Regional Deputy Director of Urban Planning.

However, a private organization encroached the land and upon complaint registered a team headed by Ravindran, executive engineer for corporation confiscated the land. A board has also been put up stating the ownership of the land.

As per Social Activist Thiyagarajan, the land recovered by the Coimbatore corporation is worth 5-crore. It was so far occupied by a layman for 40 years and he had been making a living with that place.
