On the orders of the Coimbatore City Police, special teams are on daily patrol at various places in the city to monitor those who may be selling drugs. They spotted a woman who was standing by the roadside in Ratnapuri area and questioned her. Hearing her contradictory answers, the police checked her and found her in possession of 1.3 kg packets of ganja. The police further interrogated her at the police station, and the woman was identified as Sharmila Begum who was in the business of selling ganja. The police have arrested her and confiscated the 1.3 kg ganja packet from her.
