Thadagam poilce confiscate two trucks loaded with bricks in Coimbatore

Two trucks carrying bricks were confiscated by the police in Thadagam, Coimbatore and a case has been filed against both owners and drivers of the trucks.


Coimbatore: Two trucks carrying bricks have been confiscated and a case has been filed against the owners of the trucks and the drivers. Thadagam police are continuing their investigation.

Brick kilns operating in Thadagam, Coimbatore have been banned from operating in the area following a lawsuit alleging that several kilns were operating without permission and thereby depleting mineral resources in the area.

On Tuesday night, when the Thadagam police were engaged in a vehicle inspection in the Kanuvai area, police officials confiscated two lorries loaded with bricks and took them to the Thadagam police station. The village administration officer were also informed about the incident. During investigation, the two drivers of the lorry were identified as Sundarapandi and Rangaraj and the lorry owners were identified as Sathyamoorthy and Kanagaraj.



Social activists have begun to question whether brick kilns are again being re-operated keeping in mind that these two trucks were loaded with bricks in an area where there was a ban against operation of brick kilns.
