Man arrested for keeping 16 kg of banned tobacco packets for sale in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Coimbatore district police are constantly monitoring sale of all the banned tobacco products and drugs such as ganja and people involved in gambling and vehicles carrying extra load.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore district police are constantly monitoring sale of all the banned tobacco products and drugs such as ganja and people involved in gambling and vehicles carrying extra load.

A man was arrested near Coimbatore for possessing 16 kg of banned tobacco products for sale.

Police said, "Sub-Inspector Pandiammal of the Thudiyalur police station in Coimbatore district was on patrol near the Rakkiyapalayam pirivu. Dharmaraj was arrested for illegally selling packets of banned tobacco. About 16 kg of tobacco packets were confiscated from him and a case has been registered against Dharmaraj."
