Elderly man died consuming pesticide at his home near Kinathukadavu, unable to cope with poor health that had been plaguing him for the past few years.


Coimbatore: Abdul Matheen (65), a resident of the Muslim Kovilpalayam area near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district is reported to have been suffering from poor health for the past few years. On August 6, when no one was at home, Abdul Matheen fainted after consuming pesticides and was rushed to the Pollachi Government Hospital for treatment.

Abdul Matheen was administered first aid and then sent immediately to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment. Abdul Matheen who was receiving treatment there died on Sunday night. Abdul Matheen's son Syed Mohammad lodged a complaint with the Kinathukadavu police on Monday. Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation
