An inebriated son involved in a property dispute with his father became enraged and used scissors and scythe to stab his father repeatedly. Selvapuram police have arrested him and further investigations are underway.

He went on to strike his father with a scythe too under the influence of alcohol. Selvapuram police have arrested him and further investigations are underway.
Ramachandran (60), a DMK official from Sokkamputhur area which is near Selvapuram in Coimbatore takes care of a Banana wholesale shop. His son, Rajesh (A) Govindarajan worked there along with his father. Rajesh and his family live together as a joint family along with his father.
Lately, a dispute arose over the division of property between Ramachandran and his son Rajesh alias Govindarajan. For the past few months, Rajesh has been arguing with his father over buying a separate house. Rajesh had returned home inebriated on Wednesday night and got into an argument with his father asking him to buy a house for him. Ramachandran flatly refused which enraged Rajesh.
He immediately took a pair of scissors that was lying around in the home and stabbed his father in the neck. He also found a scythe and used it to strike his father down. Ramachandran was grievously injured and fell unconscious in a pool of blood.
Selvapuram police rushed to the spot and found Ramachandran dead. They recovered the body and sent the corpse to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Rajesh was arrested by the police and the murder is being investigated by the Selvapuram police.
