Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government has been beefing up various precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the predicted third wave of Covid-19 across the state. As part of this, the Government has allowed all types of businesses and mobile phone showrooms to operate from 10 am to 5 pm except for essential stores in areas where the Covid-19 infection is low.

Two large mobile phone showrooms, Supreme Paradise and Poorvika Mobiles on Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway opposite the Palladam Arignar Anna bus stand in Tirupur district were kept open beyond 8 pm on Wednesday in violation of Government regulations with ongoing mobile phone sales.

On information provided by the locals, Palladam Municipality Commissioner Vinayagam, Municipality Engineer Shankar, Superintendent Narayanan and other staff rushed to the location. They evacuated the employees inside the shop, and locked and sealed both shops.



The incident caused a stir in the area and Municipality Commissioner Vinayagam warned that shops in Palladam should not opearte in violation of Government regulations and that stern action would be taken against such shops.
