Young supervisor electrocuted at dye plant near Palladam

Tirupur: A sudden power outage occurred at a privately-owned dye plant in Chinnakarai Lakshmi Nagar, next to Palladam in Tirupur district.


Tirupur: A sudden power outage occurred at a privately-owned dye plant in Chinnakarai Lakshmi Nagar, next to Palladam in Tirupur district.

Following this,Arun Kumar (28), a resident of Mettur, Salem District who works as a supervisor at Enviro Tech which maintains the plant inspected the transformer at the dye plant to aid in electrical repairs.

Arun Kumar reportedly tried to reach atop the transformer by placing an iron ladder on it. He was electrocuted immediately and died on the spot. Following this, the plant management with the help of workers took Arun Kumar's body to a private hospital in Tirupur in a vehicle owned by the plant.



Doctors at a private hospital who examined Arun Kumar's body confirmed that Arun Kumar had been brought dead. His body was rushed in a private ambulance to the Palladam Government Hospital for autopsy. The Palladam police have registered a case.

Arun Kumar was living with his wife Gnanasundari at a rented house in Lakshmi Nagar for the past one year. Meanwhile, Arun Kumar's relatives gathered at the Palladam Government Hospital on hearing of Arun Kumar's death and got into an argument with Venkatesh, one of the owners of Enviro Tech and the dye plant employees claiming that Arun Kumar's body was injured in several places.
