Coimbatore: The forest department is trying to drive away three wild elephants camped in the Veerapandi area of the Coimbatore.

There are plenty of wild elephants in the Western Ghats. It is common for these elephants to descend from the mountains at night and visit agricultural lands in various parts of the state, including Kanuvai, Tadagam and Veerapandi.

At this point, three wild elephants change their migratory path and descend down the mountain last night. These elephants are currently camping in the lake near Veerapandi area. The people of the area informed the forest department about this.

Later, forest officials who went there on information are trying to drive the elephants back into the wild.
