The Tamil Nadu Forest Minister, K Ramachandran warned that vehicles entering Coimbatore from Kerala without proper certificates will be sent back to Kerala.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Forest Minister, K Ramachandran announced that steps are being taken to send back vehicles entering Coimbatore from Kerala without proper certificates.
Forest Minister, K Ramachandran inaugurated the Coronavirus Awareness Vehicle at the Coimbatore District Collectorate. Later, he personally inspected the Coronavirus prevention work at the Coimbatore railway station with Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran. Later, Minister Ramachandran visited the Walayar check post on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border and personally inspected the Coronavirus prevention work being carried out.
Later, Minister Ramachandran told reporters that surveillance was being intensified due to rising cases in Kerala, with a high number of 230 fresh cases recorded in Coimbatore itself. People are allowed into Tamil Nadu only if they have a negative RT-PCR certificate and a certificate of having taken both doses of vaccination against Covid-19.
Minister Ramachandran also said that there is intense monitoring to create awareness among people of both states and steps are being taken to send back vehicles coming from Kerala without proper certification.
All persons on foot, two-wheelers and four-wheelers from Kerala are being stopped and checked. Those who are entering Coimbatore border without proper certificates are sent back. Although the first test was conducted at the Walayar check post on July 2, the first surveillance work is been intensified from Friday.
