Consultation meeting held today at the Sub-Collector's Office to prevent traffic congestion and accidents in Pollachi

Coimbatore: A consultative meeting on controlling traffic congestion and accidents in Pollachi was held under the chairmanship of Sub-Collector Thackeray Subham Gyanadev Rao.


Coimbatore: A consultative meeting on controlling traffic congestion and accidents in Pollachi was held under the chairmanship of Sub-Collector Thackeray Subham Gyanadev Rao.

The meeting was attended by Revenue Department officials, police officers, traffic police, trade and industry council executives and social activists, including Thanigaivel assistant to the Collector. They discussed Pollachi town and its surroundings where traffic congestion and accidents are more likely and what kind of facilities need to be improved to prevent it. It was decided to ask the government for the necessary funds and to removeparking heavy vehicles occupying the main road which causes traffic congestion and accidents. Appropriate action should be taken to prevent this.

The Sub-Collector also advised to conduct frequent awareness camps for motorists on traffic rules. It was also found that Manjanayakkanur Division Pollachi-Udumalai Road, Pollachi-Aliyar Road, including frequent accidents. Those present at the meeting demanded that speed bumps be set at appropriate places to control this.
