Intensive surveillance at Kinathukadavu's Tamil Nadu-Kerala border; Police send back travellers without e-pass

Amidst rising cases of Covid-19 in Kerala, surveillance has been intensified at Kinathukadavu's Tamil Nadu-Kerala border even as police send back those travelling without e-pass.

Coimbatore: E-pass has been made mandatory for those entering Tamil Nadu from Kerala due to the increasing incidence of Coronavirus infections in the state of Kerala. Thus, the Revenue Department, the police and medical teams are engaged in intensive surveillance and enforcement of safety measures. As part of this, the Revenue Department and the police are engaged in intensive surveillance at the Veerappagavundanur police check post on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border, near Kinathukadavu.

Kinnathukadavu Tahsildar Sasirekha personally monitored the surveillance work on Monday and insisted that vehicles should be sent back if they are entering Tamil Nadu from Kerala without an e-pass. Based on this, the police and the Revenue Department conducted intensive checks on vehicles entering Coimbatore from Kerala. Those who arrived from Kerala were allowed past the check post only after checking their body temperature and oxygen levels, while travellers without e-pass were sent back by the police.
