Coimbatore: Collector announces closure and restrictions for upcoming festivities at important temples in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: In a recent official announcement, District Collector Sameeran has informed that in view of the prevailing corona pandemic situation in Coimbatore district and as per the guidelines issued by the TN government, important temples in Coimbatore will remain closed for 4 days.
"As large gathering of devotees could pave way for further spread of coronavirus, as a matter of precaution it has been decided to enforce restrictions on the following auspicious days beyween August 1 to 3 and August 8th.
As huge crowds are expected to gather at the below mentioned temples on August 2, Aadi Kiruthugai, August 3, Aadi Perukku and August 8, Aadi Amavasai, devotees will not be allowed to visit Arulmigu Subramaniyaswamy Temple in Marudhamalai, Perur Arulmigu Patteswara Swamy Temple, Pollachi Anaimalai Arulmigu Masaniamman Temple, Mettupalayam Thekkampatti Arulmigu Vana Bathrakaliamman Temples from August 1st to 3rd and the 8th", the Collector informed.
Importantly, devotees will not be allowed to perform rituals for their ancestors at lake/river bunds on the above mentioned days, the Collector noted.
