Public demand for removal of thorns near residence due to leopard movement in Valparai

The public has demanded the removal of bushes near the residence due to the movement of leopard bears in the Valparai area.


Coimbatore: One person has died after being attacked by a bear at different places in Valparai area of Coimbatore district and two days another man has been admitted to Coimbatore hospital with serious injuries. There are about 5 thousand houses in the Valparai area. Here in the evenings leopards and bears roam the residential areas. So people are scared as the incident in which a bear attacked a man near Valparai caused great fear among the public.



As it was lurking in the bushes near the residence and roaming at night, the public demanded that the municipality department remove the entire bushes near the residences. Thepublic have also demanded the forest department to provide protection to the public from bears and leopards entering the residential areas.
