High platforms in Sub-Registrar offices removed on Minister's order for easy access to public while interacting with officials.
Coimbatore: The Minister of Commercial Taxes and Registration, Moorthy who inspected the Registrar's office in Coimbatore last week found that officials in the office were sitting on a high platform and hence were not easily accessible on par with the public visiting the office, to respectfully provide proper service.
Following this, the Minister directed that in future, all officials should not sit on a high platform but sit on an equal footing with the public. Further all services in Sub-Registrar offices will be computerized so that officials do not have to deal with money, since hereon all fees will be remitted to the Government online. Hence high platforms too will not be needed at the offices.
Jothi Nirmalasamy, Secretary to the Government, instructed officials to ensure that all chairs in the offices should be set up on the ground and high platforms need to be removed immediately. Following this, the high platforms in all the Sub-Registrar offices in Coimbatore district have been removed and seats have been set up on the ground for easy access with the public.
