Public demand for locked public toilet in Valparai New Market area to be brought back into use immediately


Coimbatore: The New Market which is located centrally in Valparai in Coimbatore district comprises about 1,000 stores in the area, both small and large. Workers, shop owners, customers and even tourists use a common public toilet near the office of the Municipality Health Inspector.

The public toilet in use was built by the municipality and maintained by a contractor on a lease basis. The toilet has been locked for a few months now leaving workers, public and tourists in the area extremely inconvenienced. Outstation passengers arriving by buses in the early hours of the morning have also expressed their concern at not being able to use toilet facilities. Due to this, the municipality administration has demanded that the toilet facility be brought into public use immediately.
