Police and Valparai Municipality impose fines on people in public places who were not wearing face masks


Coimbatore: In Valparai, Coimbatore district, the police and municipality jointly imposed fines on those who did not wear face masks in public places.

Usually a large number of workers from tea estates enter Valparai every Sunday to buy their essentials. Also, a large number of tourists have arrived in Valparai from the lower regions. Due to this, a large crowd had gathered in Valparai on Sunday.



But most people did not wear a face mask and did not follow social distancing. Following this, on the orders of Valparai Police Inspector Maheshwari, the police and municipality officials jointly imposed fines on those who did not wear face masks and urged them to adhere to social distancing.
