Unidentified men steal 11 sovereign of jewellery from an elderly woman in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Unidentified men who were wearing masks knocked on the door of an old woman who was alone at home in Coimbatore and snatched 11 sovereigns of jewellery and showed her handcuffs. Police are searching for an unidentified person wearing a mask who attacked an old woman in Coimbatore and stole 11 sovereigns worth of jewellery.
Police said the incident took place at N.P. Itteri Kasi nagar, near Sulur next to Coimbatore. Bahuruddin, 75 is survived by his wife Zahara, 66, and four sons and four daughters. Everyone is married and living separately and thus Bahuruddin Zahara lived alone in their house. They were sleeping at home last night. Then at around 3 in the morning they heard a knock on the door of the house. She immediately got up and opened the door. Then 2 masked youths stood in the doorway of the house and they suddenly attacked Zahara and pushed her down and snatched the 11 sovereign gold chain she was wearing around his neck and fled on a motorcycle.
Shocked by this she started shouting and neighbors in the area rushed in and tried to catch the unidentified individuals. But by then the men had escaped from there. Podanur police have registered a case and are searching for the unidentified men who stole the jewellery.
