600 kg of ration rice was confiscated while being smuggled from Aliyar refugee camp
Coimbatore: The Civil Supply Tahsildar, Murugaraj, raided the Aliyar refugee camp on Friday based on a tip-off that free ration rice provided by the Tamil Nadu Government was being smuggled into Kerala in two-wheelers and four-wheelers.
The rice smugglers fled the spot. 600 kg of rice stored in 14 bundles and the four-wheelers used for smuggling were confiscated by the Civil Supply Officer. The Aliyar police are investigating the complaint lodged by the Civil Supply Tahsildar.
