The survey was conducted in the Mavuthampathy area of Coimbatore district on the 27th of last month as a coronavirus prevention measure. The tribals then living in Puthupathi have been building houses for 45 families in the areas classified as Puthuppathi Natham for the last 30 years. Of these, 30 families have already been issued pattas."

He added, "The remaining 15 families have not been issued a patta and they demanded that they be given a patta. Following this, the Revenue Commissioner and the Tahsildhar were directed to take appropriate action in this regard. Following this, on the 12th, a house lease was issued to hill people belonging to 15 families living in Mavuthampathy, Puthupatti tribal settlement. Regional Development Officers have also been instructed to build free houses for them through the Rural Development Agency."
