People all over the world are affected by coronavirus. New types of viruses such as the coronavirus mutant delta and delta plus are also spreading. As well as dengue, the Zika virus is spreading in the aftermath of dengue. If Zika virus infects mothers the baby is born with a small head. Chief Minister MK Stalin has instructed to carry out intensive checks on Zika and Coronavirus prevention activities in all border areas of Tamil Nadu. Based on this, I went directly to the old street Mavuthampathy panchayat near Walayar on the Coimbatore-Kerala border and raised awareness for 95 houses.
Aedes type mosquitoes bite during the day, and are produced in stagnant rainwater and water. Zika and dengue are spread by this type of mosquito. We need awareness to protect ourselves from this. There are 20 persons per panchayat for each village panchayat in Tamil Nadu and 10 persons per municipality for each municipality. Staff have been appointed as per the requirement of the municipality and corporations. They will be involved in mosquito eradication activities such as mosquito repellent and abatement. 21,000 people across Tamil Nadu are involved in this work in 14,833 vehicles. Health officials in the Walayar area have done well. The larvae of mosquito worms are destroyed with Gambusia fish. There is no Zika virus in Tamil Nadu. Samples are constantly being taken and tested.
About 2,500 people have been affected by dengue since January and special treatment has been given for it. All border areas are inspected by revenue, health and police according to curfew regulations. In terms of vaccines, Coimbatore is the second largest city with largest number of inoculations after Chennai. 10,97,000 dose has been given in Coimbatore and the process is being expedited.
The central government receives the vaccine from the vaccine companies and distributes 75 percent to state governments and 25 percent to private hospitals. Free vaccination of people in private hospitals will be carried out using the CSR funds of the industry in consultation with the private hospital owners.
1,86,37,670 vaccines have been received for Tamil Nadu. 1,82,38,988 vaccines have been administered. Tamil Nadu needs 12 crore vaccines. There are 6 crore people over the age of 18. A research center has been set up in Thiruvannamalai for the treatment of spinal cord injury."
