Five including a relative who impregnated a 14-year-old girl arrested under POCSO in Pollachi: 17 year old boy absconds

During the investigation conducted by the women police, the girl said that six persons, including the relatives were involved in intimidating and raping her.



Coimbatore: A 14-year-old girl was admitted to Pollachi Government Hospital yesterday due to abdominal pain. Examination by doctors revealed that the girl was pregnant. 

Following this, the doctors informed the Pollachi Women's Police Station. During the investigation conducted by the women police, the girl said that six persons, including the relatives were involved in intimidating and raping her.

Following this, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act against the student's relatives Makara Jyothi (31) and three youths aged 19, one aged 16 and one aged 17. Police have also arrested five people involved in the rape and are searching for the 17-year-old boy who has absconded.
