Coimbatore: Vehicles parked in the No Parking zones at Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand, Coimbatore cause major traffic congestion and causing fear of accidents amongst people.
There are three bus stands in the Coimbatore Gandhipuram area including Central Bus Stand, Thiruvalluvar Bus Stand and Town Bus Stand. The Town Bus Station is always bustling. From there, crowds of people flock to various parts of Coimbatore in the morning, evening and afternoon. To deal with such a crowd, the police have issued an order not to place two-wheelers such as florists on the side of the door of the Town Bus Stand and have placed a No Parking Board.
However, no one respects this and the usual row of shops and two-wheelers and autos are constantly parked in the area between the no parking boards. Therefore, accidents occur when the bus turns while coming from the bus stand. The public is demanding that appropriate action be taken against those who park vehicles in violation of the No Parking Board.
