Tirupur: Lakshmi is a retired Tamil teacher working at Avinashi Government Girls High School, Tirupur District.

She has been withdrawing her pension money from State Bank bank accounts for the last two years. When she went to withdraw her pension money last May, she received a text message saying that her bank account had been disabled on the recommendation of the Cyber Crime Police.

When she visited the bank manager in person due to the inability to withdraw money, he said that Rs 50 lakh had been deposited in their account in a suspicious manner.

But the bank management did not know where the money came from. 50 lakh was not shown when registering in the bank account book. Lakshmi, a retired teacher, and her husband filed a petition with the District Superintendent of Police and the District Collector today, urging the bank management to provide them with complete information and to bring the bank account into operation immediately as they cannot withdraw their pensions even during the coronavirus curfew. He has already filed a petition to the Chief Minister's private unit in this regard.
