Construction worker electrocuted in Pollachi

A construction worker was electrocuted in Sethupathy Nagar in Mahalingapuram, Pollachi.


Coimbatore: A construction worker, Manikandan (40) from Karuppampalayam near Pollachi was working at the house of Periyasamy in Sethupathy nagar, Mahalingapuram.

On Sunday, while he was engaged in the work of closing the pit dug near the electrical connection box, he was electrocuted and died on the spot.

Following a complaint lodged by the owner of the house, the Mahalingapuram police rushed to the house to recover Manikandan's body which was later sent to the Pollachi Government Hospital for autopsy. Further, a case has been registered in connection with the incident and investigation is underway.
