Coimbatore: An unidentified person who made the bomb threat to the Coimbatore railway station this morning has been arrested by the police.

An unidentified person called the police control room yesterday morning and said he overheard two talking about bombing Coimbatore Railway station.
He hung up saying that he wanted to inform the police. The matter was immediately reported to higher authorities. Following this, the Bomb Disposal Unit and the Central Railway Security Force Bomb Surveillance Unit conducted a search with the help of a sniffer dog.
Passengers inside the Coimbatore railway station and all their belongings are being subjected to intensive search. This caused a stir in the Coimbatore railway station. They also investigated the cell phone number of the caller and it was revealed that Senthilkumar (40) from Chitra Nagar, North Madurai had called and made a bomb threat
Interrogation revealed that Senthilkumar's wife had died of coronavirus a few months ago and that Senthilkumar seemed to be suffering from mental illness since then. The Railway Security Police are investigating the matter.
