Coimbatore: BJP National President JP Nadda appointed Annamalai a young ex-IPS officer after his predecessor L. Murugan was elevated as Union Minister of state in PM Modi's cabinet even though he lost the state election.



K Annamalai took charge in a simple function at Kamalalayam, Teynampet, Chennai the BJP state headquarters.

The function started at 2:45 pm, with while than 500 enthusiastic BJP and RSS cadres gave a floral reception with Mahila Morcha ladies giving Purna Khumbam respect.



At a packed press conference where 200 media person from international, national, and TN media houses attended the event, K Annamalai spoke on various topics like NEET and said that DMK is spoiling the chance of poor students mostly from rural areas to become doctors. He gave statistics on pre-NEET and post NEET and said that the real Samooga Needhi is in bjp policy whereordinary poor people and farmers alike can become doctors.

He attacked meme creators who make fun of him as "Aatukkutti". He asked the press persons is goat rearing a sin and said he is proud that he as a goat breeder and farmer has become BJPstate president. He said his family still gets its livelihood by goat rearing and farming

He also answered a query by a journalist about new IT laws, and said thetraditional TV and newspapers need not worry, only web channels, and web news will be under control because the new laws curb fake news.



He said that the Modi government's people friendly policy is the real Samooga Needhi and DMK policy is just showoff and he took a dig at DMK for not fullfilling the election policy

He said that the Modi government is vaccinating all with free vaccination and yesterday also announced massive freevaccination drive. He avoided controversial issues like Kongunadu and told press not to make a mountain out of mole.

He said that he will get the promised Cauvery water from Karnataka and both states should get benefitted.
