Two auto robbers arrested near Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Two auto robbers were arrested and jailed by the police near Sulur, Coimbatore during vehicle inspection.
Police said that persons were arrested in connection with the theft of a lorry during a vehicle inspection at the Kangayampalayam near Sulur, Coimbatore.
Sulur police were on regular patrol at Kangayampalayam near Sulur, Coimbatore. A suspicious mini load auto came that way and the police stopped the auto and investigated the driver. The driver who drove the auto responded in contradiction. Following this, the police took the driver and his accomplice to the police station and conducted an intensive investigation.
The investigation also revealed that the parts of the stolen auto were being sold separately in districts including Madurai and Dindigul. Further investigation revealed that 6 mini autos stolen from Sulur and Pollachi areas were hidden in Kangayampalayam area. Following this, the police confiscated 6 mini autos hidden in the Kangayampalayam area and registered a case against the two and lodged them in the Coimbatore Central Jail.
