The normal life of the public was greatly affected by the rains. In Valparai residential areas like Anna Nagar, Gaggan Colony, MGR Nagar and Tulasinga Nagar have houses built in tiers. The water tank area of Gaggan Colony is in a dangerous condition for the public to use stairs. People in the area are scared as the stairs are about to collapse due to the rain.
They are now walking in the alternative route without walking through the area. The people of the area have demanded that the municipal administration immediately repair the stairs which are in a state of collapse.
