Director General of Police details action taken on petitions received from various districts in Tamil Nadu under 'Ungal Thoguthiyil Muthalvar' scheme.


Coimbatore: The Director General of Police, C Sylendra Babu, issued a keynote address on Thursday with regard to the petitions received from various districts in Tamil Nadu, under the "Ungal Thoguthiyil Muthalvar" scheme.

In his keynote address, the Director General of Police stated, "1594 petitions were received by the police from various districts of Tamil Nadu under the special scheme of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Of these petitions, 244 petitions were reported to the complainant as the action had to be taken by the court and other departments, and the inquiry was completed by forwarding the petition to the concerned department.

Out of the remaining 1350 petitions, 838 petitions have been investigated and resolved till 14.07.2021. The settled petitions include 291 petitions related to money laundering, 278 petitions related to property disputes, 70 petitions seeking restraint of illegal activities, 51 petitions for police station services, 58 petitions for family disputes and 190 petitions for other causes. The investigation into the 42 pending petitions will be done immediately and resolved within a few days," assured the Director General of Police.
