Government employees condemn irregularities in vaccination at District Collectorate

Coimbatore: There are more than 50 Government departments operating in the premises of the Coimbatore District Collector's office.

Coimbatore: There are more than 50 Government departments operating in the premises of the Coimbatore District Collector's office.

Vaccination has been administered near the Covid War Room. Government officials have complained that while Government employees are being harassed when they visit the premises to get vaccinated, outsiders are allowed to get their jabs without any hindrance.

“At a time when all Government offices are now fully operational, Government employees working at the Coimbatore District Collector's office premises from each departmental headquarters have been instructed to get vaccinated as soon as possible. The employees are constantly harassed by being asked to come tomorrow and when the employees go the next day they are asked to get a letter from their head office. Isn't a Government identity card held by employees working in Government departments operating in the Collector's office premises not sufficient? With the situation of Government employees being like this, many outsiders come into the District Collector’s office and go to the special camp without any hindrance and get vaccinated. Due to pressure from the Head office, employees working in Government departments in the District Collector's office had to go to privately run camps to be vaccinated," complained a few Government employees.

"It is unfortunate that irregularities are taking place at the District Collector's office as complaints are being made to the Collector about irregularities taking place throughout the district. The Collector should therefore take immediate action to resolve the issue. It should be ensured that only Government employees are vaccinated at the District Collectorate," they urged.
