Bus stop shelters turn into haven for liquor consumers at Muthukkavundanur near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore

Bus stop shelters turn into drinking spots for alcohol consumers at Muthukkavundanur near Kinathukadavu

Coimbatore: A bus stop shelter erected on the way to the Muthugavundanur Muthumalai Murugan Temple in Sokkanur Panchayat in Kinathukadavu Union in Coimbatore District has been converted to a drinking den for tipplers.

Since buses have not been operational for over two months, regular alcohol consumers who have been drinking indiscriminately in public places too after the opening of liquor stores, have been using these bus stop shelters to sit and consume alcohol. They have also been littering these shelters with used liquor bottles, plastic glases and water bottles.

Locals have urged officials to initiate action against those who drink alcohol in these public bus stop shelters.
