MDMK Youth Secretary V. Easwaran challenges BJP treasurer SR Shekhar

MDMK youth secretary V Easwaran has challenged BJP treasurer SR Sekhar to prove that Tamil language is not an optional subject in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

Coimbatore: MDMK youth secretary V Easwaran has challenged BJP treasurer SR Sekhar to prove that Tamil language is not an optional subject in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools.

'Tamil is still an optional subject in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools. Vaiko has to prove otherwise,' BJP treasurer SR Sehkar questioned.

In this context, MDMK Easwaran said, 'Come to Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Puliyakulam, Coimbatore at 1 pm today. I want to prove that Tamil is a subject in that school.

If Tamil is not a subject as you said, are you ready to bring Tamil as a subject instead of Sanskrit? Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Puliyakulam, Coimbatore offers English and Hindi translation from class one to class five.

After that, Sanskrit, Hindi and English are taught in 6th, 7th and 8th classes. These are the only choices. Thereafter, both English, Hindi or Sanskrit are taught in 9th and 10th classes.

Tamil subject is not mentioned in the mark certificates of the students.

Students will be taught Tamil by a temporary teacher if they wish. That too depends on the availability of the teacher. Is Tamil ignored in this?

So, if SR Sekhar comes to Puliyakulam Kendriya Vidyalaya School at 1 pm today, both of them can inquire and leave and understand the situation.

Not only this, the Chief Minister of the Union should make a request to them on behalf of the Tamil Nadu BJP to bring Tamil as a subject instead of Sanskrit.'
