TASMAC stores re-open in Valparai

Coimbatore: All Tasmac stores in Valparai in Coimbatore district were closed last May due to the high number of coronavirus cases. The Tamil Nadu government has given permission to reopen liquor stores as cases have declined.

Valparai has two shops in Valparai, Rottikadai in Mudis and Sholayar Dam. Following the permission given by the Tamil Nadu government to open liquor stores today, the shop staff cleaned the shop and lit camphor in the morning and started selling liquor. Barricades are placed in shops and circles are drawn to help observe social distancing.

People started buying alcohol from 10 a.m and two guards were deployed for security duty at each shop.

The customers were happy that the Tasmac store opened after a long time.
